Did you know That the average age at which an indi Did you know
That the average age at which an individual
Will disclose they experienced sexual harm as a young person
Is 52 years old? 😮

It often takes that long
To find someone you can trust with the info.

Or maybe your abuser has passed away.
In some instances, the person who causes harm moves far, far away.
That's what happened to my abuser.
He moved halfway across the world.🌏

To read my story of surviving sibling abuse--psychological, physical, and sexual--pick up a copy of my book, "Everyone Was Silent: A memoir" on Amazon.com.
Or if you want a signed copy + a cute bookmark, buy it in the store on my website: dianetarantini.com.

This carousel will answer some questions for you.

The story of "The Brave Knight" teaches kids--in a non-threatening way--
What "grooming" is: The process a predator uses to gain the trust of a potential victim and sometimes their family members.
The book shows readers, via a fairy tale, what grooming looks, sounds, and feels like.

At the back of the book,
I included lots of resources.
-Discussion questions
-How to create a list of safe-adults worksheet
-How to develop personal safety plans worksheet
-Helpful phone numbers and websites

"The Brave Knight" is available on Amazon...
But if you order directly from my website,
Your copy will be signed.
I'll also tuck in stickers and "sticky dragons"
For your child.🙂

NOTE: The book is also a great resource to help kids recognized and report bullying as groomers and bullies often behave in similar ways.

Did you know Sibling Bullying is a thing?😮
I know from years of experience that sibling bullying absolutely exists!😢
In fact, sibling bullying is more common than bullying by a peer.

A 2015 survey of 4,000 American children showed more kids are victimized over the course of a year by a sibling (21.8%) than by a peer (15.6%). Link to that study here: https://lnkd.in/eTTYkJBH.👫

If so, you may be dealing with Sibling Bullying.

Do you want to know if it's normal?
Maybe it's sibling rivalry... (Spoiler: It's not.)
And when the fighting gets really bad, what are the best ways to stop it?

Check out this blog post for my thoughts about sibling fighting, rivalry, and abuse.

Guess what time it is? It's almost Body Safety Ass Guess what time it is?
It's almost Body Safety Assembly time!!🕰

The first time I speak at a school,
I always wear this flight suit.
The first photo is me getting ready to leave at the crack of dawn.
Because many schools want us to arrive at 7:30 am.🏫

The saying stenciled on the back of the flight suit?
I saw it on the back of an influencer's coat in an airport✈
And asked my artist to re-create it on the back of my BSA 'fit.

Here's me in front of our @shieldwv slide in a school auditorium.
Shield is the terrific nonprofit that sends me and my co-presenter, Grace Stewart, into schools.

Last year a student came up after our presentation to tell me I look like the actress in the remake of GhostBusters.
I see the resemblance, don't you?👀

The last slide is the flightsuit's pocket.
I had the artist who embellished the jumpsuit embroider my life philosophy here.

Let me introduce you to another kind of bullying
Sibling Bullying.

Some people call it Sibling Violence.
Or Sibling Abuse.

Whatever you call it,
It's a problem
The effects of sibling harm
Emotional (aka psychological), physical, or sexual
Will last a lifetime.

Some siblings will go NO CONTACT with siblings who hurt them.
And sometimes with the parents who they believe did not protect them.

You can read more about Family Estrangement in this blog post of mine:
https://dianetarantini.com/family-estrangement/

And of course, you can learn more about all three types of sibling harm in my book, "Everyone Was Silent: A memoir," available on Amazon and my website.
