Dear Survivor:

Of child sexual abuse (CSA)
The holidays can be really hard,
Don't you think?

There may be a chance you'll run into the person who harmed you
Verbally, physically, and/or sexually.
Though you 100% are allowed to turn down that invitation!

Or perhaps you've gone NO CONTACT with your family
To protect your mind, body, and soul.
And now you have to figure out a different way to spend the holidays.

Take care of yourself, dear one.
Make new traditions
With new people.
And new activities.
Light a candle and journal by its flickering light.
Find music that soothes you.
Volunteer.
Binge-watch Hallmark movies.
It's your journey.

In the meantime,
I'll be over here holding you in my heart.
Wishing all the best for you
As you walk your path of healing.

As a survivor of child sexual abuse (CSA)...
That happened in my own home
At the hands of a blood relative

I wanted two things to happen:
I wanted my parents to let me to lock my door.
Instead they fixed my door so I couldn’t lock it.

Or I wanted some kind of a noisemaker on my door.
In my book, “Everyone Was Silent: A memoir,”
I wrote something like,
“When I have kids of my own some day,
I’ll hang giant sleigh bells on every child’s door.
So I’ll hear if anyone tries to hurt someone.”
A door alarm would have worked great for this purpose.

If you are concerned about your kids,
That someone in your house—a relative or a houseguest—
Might harm your child in the still of the night,
Consider a door alarm.
I think it’s a great solution.
As is the camera idea I talked about in a reel a few months back...

These are things you need to know in your "heart of hearts."❤

A child cannot legally consent to any sexual behavior
Before the age of legal consent in their state.
And if someone over 18 compels or persuades a child to do so,
It is a CRIME.

Don't let anyone--yourself included--beat you up
For not fighting or running away or disclosing immediately.
The freeze response is the #1 most popular response
To child sexual abuse.

You were just a little kid.
This never should have happened to you.
The world should be a safe place for children.

Whatever you did to survive,

Seems to me like #Epstein and his buddies were "Ephebophiliacs" with their primary sexual interest in mid-to-late adolescents, generally ages 15 to 19.
Though a number of the #Epsteinsurvivors were 14-years-old when they were abused.
And Katie Johnson alleges she was 13-years-old when + took her virginity.
Declaring, "Better I pop your cherry than a pimply 14-year old."

But #Epstein and some of his friends--like the unnamed prime minister in this passage--were also into S&M: sado-masochism.
In fact, #Epstein purchased books on the topic off Amazon.
According to the receipts in #epstein's trash that the police found.
He and #Maxwellthemonster sometimes referred to the girls as their "sex slaves."

Abusers like this are all around us.
They have to be identified, investigated, prosecuted, indicted, and incarcerated.
Better yet,
Let's detain and deport them.
To Alligator Alcatraz or CECOT.

As a survivor of child sexual abuse
From the time I was three years old
Until halfway through my teen years,
I experienced sexual harm on a regular basis.
As such, I can say with full confidence and authority
That @megynkelly
does not know what the hell she is talking about.

This toxic rhetoric she is oozing out of her mouth,
That the severity of child sexual abuse depends on the age of the victim
Is 100% bullshit. 🐂

I demand that she apologize to survivors everywhere.
And in addition, it is in the best interest of Fox News
To fire her dumb ass.
She is a sorry excuse for a journalist.

God help her 14-year old daughter.

It is 100% normal to be sad.😢
And mad.
And disappointed.
That the grownups in your life didn't protect you from sexual harm.

Why didn't they see how angry you were?😡
How hurt?
When you stopped interacting with the people and things you love...
Why didn't they notice?

When the blood ran out of your face
Leaving you pale🤢
When a certain person walked in the room,
How did they not see that?

If you feel alone...
If you are grieving...
It is 100% understandable.

Someone in your life...
In your family
At school
Or in your church community

Should have recognized that you were not the same.
They should have asked, "Are you okay?"
Or, "Did something happen to you?"
Or maybe, "I'm worried about you. Let's grab lunch."

You're not alone.
I'm with you.
Millions of survivors are with you.
We are not alone.
We matter.
You matter.❤️
