I am grateful That whenever I have shared my exper I am grateful
That whenever I have shared my experience
Of child sexual abuse,
I have only been met with compassion and support.

Instinctively most people know
That a child is never at fault
When it comes to a sexual abuse situation.
Because children are not able to legally consent to sexual activity.

Sibling sexual trauma and abuse (SSTA) Differs sig Sibling sexual trauma and abuse (SSTA)
Differs significantly from other types of child sexual abuse (CSA).

When the child who was harmed
And the child who caused harm
Live under the same roof.
It creates a unique dynamic.

For starters,
-SSTA starts earlier.
-SSTA lasts longer.
-SSTA can be more frequent.
-SSTA can be more severe.

Tell me, friend.... Does this statistic surprise y Tell me, friend....
Does this statistic surprise you? 😮

When it comes to child sexual abuse (CSA)
Some of us stil think of Stranger Danger
An immigrant
A dragqueen
A LGBTQ+ individual..

But when it comes to demographics
For theaverage child sexual predator,
Statistics say otherwise.

I'll drop the link to the article where I found this info

Hi friend! In case you haven't noticed, There are Hi friend!

In case you haven't noticed,
There are a whole lot of things
Going on in the world right now.

And chances are,
You're not the only one paying attention.

If your child is curious
Or has friends who are,
They may be thinking about
And possibly worried about
Things like war,
Or the #epsteinfiles.

Be sure to check in with the kids you love
Later today or tomorrow
To ask them if there's anything going on right now that scares them.

Allow them to lead the conversation
And ask all the questions they want.
Then assure them that their safety is your #1 concern,
And that they can come to you whenever they're afraid
No matter the reason.

Welcometo #memoirmonday! Here's me with a charact Welcometo #memoirmonday!

Here's me with a character from my book, "Everyone Was Silent: A memoir."

This is the character known as "Lark."
Except now she's all grown up.

Fun Fact: For years, Lark was named Skylar in the manuscript.
But then a book came out about the Skylar Neese murder,
And I changed her name to Lark.
Why Lark?
Because in real life, this person loves birds.

Another Fun Fact: I worked on the Skylar Neese book.
Mostly I did transcription of taped interviews,
But toward the end of the project I also did some editing.

NOTE: "Everyone Was Silent: A memoir" is available on Amazon. Or you can get a signed copy +super cute bookmark from the shop on my website: dianetarantini.com.
